How it works

Your reputation on the grid — built through your Grid Rating, per-class Safety Rating, and a license system inspired by iRacing.

Your Reputation

Rating System

Every online race updates two independent ratings that define you as a driver. Both are earned exclusively on Supergrid servers — no shortcuts, no self-reporting.

Grid Rating (GR)

Skill · Elo-based

Your Grid Rating measures how fast and competitive you are. It's calculated using an Elo system — every race, you're compared against every other driver in the field. Beat faster drivers and your rating climbs quickly. Lose to slower ones and it drops.

Starting rating: 1500

Rookie <1000+Bronze 1000+Silver 1500+Gold 2000+Platinum 3000+Diamond 4000+

Safety Rating (SR)

Per Car Class · 1.00–4.99 Scale

Your Safety Rating is tracked separately for each car class — GT3, GT4, and more. Every lap counts: clean laps earn SR, off-tracks and car contact cost SR. The system is simple and transparent — you always know exactly how each lap affects your rating.

Starting SR: 2.50

+0.02per clean lap
−0.03per off-track lap
−0.10per car contact lap

Example: A 10-lap race with all clean laps = +0.20 SR. One contact in 10 laps = +0.08 SR. Longer races reward more.

License System

Your license is earned per car class through clean, consistent racing. Each class (GT3, GT4, etc.) has its own license — progress in one doesn't carry over to another. Promote when your SR reaches 3.00 with enough races. Fast-track with SR 4.00+. On promotion, SR is reduced by 1.00. Drop below SR 1.00 and you get demoted (but never below D License).
